Moss was born on February 13, 1977. He is an American footballer. He was a
player in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 years with the Minnesota
Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, and the San
Francisco 49ers. He is widely recognized as Jerry Rice's greatest wide
receiver. He holds the NFL single season touchdown reception record of 23 in
2007, the NFL rookie single-season touchdown record (17 in 1998) and is ranked
second on the NFL's all-time regular-season touchdown receptions list, with
156. Moss is well-known for his ability to get contested catches. The term
"mossed", which has now entered the football vocabulary, became
widely used due to the fact that he was a successful. His career began as a
studio analyst on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown and Tuesday Night Countdown
shows. Moss was born at Rand, West Virginia. Moss attended DuPont High School.
This was one of the two schools later merged to create Riverside High School.
He was a star in basketball, football and baseball. Randy was also a member of
the school’s debate team. Moss helped lead the DuPont Panthers football team to
two consecutive state championships in 1992 and 1993. His primary position was
wide receiver. However, Moss also played free safety as well as punted
kickoffs. He also was the team's punter as well as kicker. He was awarded the
Kennedy Award in 1994 as West Virginia's Football Player of Year. Parade
magazine named him to their All-American high-school football team in the year
1995, and in 2009, he was named one of the 50 best high school football players
ever.
